Customer Records

Customer records include basic information about your customer, such as name, shipping and billing address, contact information, and credit limits.

 

To open the customer record

  1. Go to customer list and then open a specific customer.

 

 

 

The following table describes some these fields in a customer record:

 

Name

Description

Name

A unique identifier of a customer.  This name must be unique for vendors, and contacts as well, for example if the customer name is James, the vendor name cannot be James.

ID Number

An ID that may identify the customer. An ID number can be auto generated or be formatted to be serialized, for example if you format an ID as 0001, the next ID will be 0002.

Company Name

Customer's company name.

Full Name

First name, middle name, and last name.

Group

Customer group, you can create customer groups and subgroups from Groups.

Is Customer Since

Specifies the date you have created this customer.

Inactive

You can inactivate this customer by checking this option.

Address tab

You can use this tab to enter detailed information about customer addresses, such as phones, e-mails, and mobiles.

Print Format

The text in this field will show in Bill To and Ship To of the customer's documents.

Opening balance

You can change opening balances of a customer by clicking on the edit button.

Credit limit

You can limit a customer to purchase on credits.  If the credits of the customer is over the limit you have specified, you get a warning message when you are creating an invoice.

Balance

Show you the balance of the customer.

Terms

Selecting a default payment terms will show you that terms when you are creating an invoice for the customer.

Account

You can specify different Accounts Receivable for each customer other than the default accounts receivable using this field.

Pref. Payment Method

The preferred payment method of the customer.

Pref. Item's Category

The customer may prefer an item's category that you specify using this field. This field may help you understand the preferences that this customer may have for a specific category.

Price Level

A price level field can be defined for each customer, for example a customer may be discounted 10% and so the price level may decrease the price of invoice items.

Salesperson

You can specify a specific salesperson of the customer.

Birth Date

Birth date of the customer.

Cash Customer

Checking this option specifies that the customer is a cash customer and can be shown in the QBM POS. Thus to show a customer in the QBM POS the customer must be a cash customer.

Name On Cheque

If you would like to print a cheque for a customer, this field can be used to print the name on the cheque.
